My research is focused on investigating the use of terminal nitride complexes as carbon dioxide reduction catalysts. CO2 reduction has been proposed as a method for generating green fuel and storing renewable energy, and we are focused on investigating the use of terminal M-N bonds as a novel catalytic motif. Performing CO2 reduction through a terminal nitrogen is a proposed method of reducing the formation of strong metal-oxygen bonds, often considered a challenge for high turnover catalysts.
